Is There A Support Group For Addicts Like Me?

Is it really sad and pathetic that I planned my entire weekend around a children’s consignment sale? For the record, it was a very good sale, but still…

Okay, so I may have exaggerated a little when I said that I had “tubs upon tubs of adorable baby BOY clothes“.

They are adorable, yes, but I only had seven tubs, which is plenty considering this is just from my son’s first year… and doesn’t include several boxes of  two-year-old stuff still being shipped from London.

As you can imagine, I was totally neg on the whole idea of buying any… more… clothes…

Trying to salvage as much as “gender neutral” as I could (which wasn’t much), it didn’t take long for me to come to the conclusion that I  probably am going to be that mom with the little tomboy climbing the monkey bars in a brown monster truck t-shirt and navy dinosaur pants– scoffing at tradition and bending gender rules.

(I can’t really afford to do otherwise.)

I planned to just buy a few pink things on resale for photos and such.

Right. I returned from the sale with TWO large Hefty bags of nothing but pink, pink, and more PINK… and the most darling pair of red patent leather Mary Janes that I would kill for in my size.

The next day, I ventured out to the Carter’s and OshKoshB’Gosh stores and brought home more pink and ribboned and lavender… and they gave me coupons for $10 off of $35 plus 20% off for next week.

Help. I just can’t stop buying baby girl clothes. It’s all SO DARN CUTE!

  1. At least baby clothes are cheaper than adult clothes. But on the flip side, they grow out of them MUCH quicker.
At least you’re having fun… that’s what it should be about. Once you have her (HER!) you’ll be too busy to spend tons of money shopping. ; )

  2. I wouldn’t want to deny you the pleasure of buying pink for your girl! too much fun.

  3. At least you are going to consignment instead of paying a gazillion dollars for a dress she’ll wear twice.

And, I bet you’ll be surprised by how much people send you! You’ll have tons of pinks before you know it.
