Eight Inspiring Quotes from Neil Armstrong, First Man to Step on the Moon

Monday Morning Status is a weekly roundup of interesting articles found on the web. Sometimes around a specific topic. Sometimes not. This week’s roundup is a tribute to the inspiring words left to us by Neil Armstrong, astronaut and first person to step on the moon.

Over the weekend, we woke up to the sad news of the passing of astronaut and first man to step on the moon, Neil Armstrong.

There was very little coverage of this event aside from one awkward gaffe by NBC (Armstrong, not Young… ruh-roh!) So that got news. Otherwise, the networks were quick to move on to other things…

For man who was such a large and inspirational figure in our history, he lived a modest private life. He once declined an interview by saying “I am comfortable with my level of public discourse.”  So no, there are no Old Navy commercials or late night interviews with Colbert or Stewart. No clamoring for the spotlight.

While his death, much like, his life after his 1969 missions and landing, was somewhat muted, his words, his legacy, and all that he inspired will live on.

Thank you, Neil. You will be missed.
