These were the words found in a card given to me at my first baby shower, and I can’t think of a better caption for this photo. It was taken of my daughter nearly two years ago. She was a just few weeks away from turning one, but she had all the daring and confidence of a girl turning four or five… or at the very least, three!
I had barely turned my head when she took off for my parents’ staircase. Up she bounded in her first try… never once looking back (or down), never checking to see if “this is okay?”, never doubting that she could.
My fearless, beautiful, confident daughter inspires me still. Every single day, in fact. She will be turning three years old this summer and I wonder where the time has gone. Wasn’t it just yesterday that she was so tiny?

Submit a photo capturing a magical moment with your baby (ages 0 to 24 months old). Disney Baby is “looking for those Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy moments that capture your baby’s unique personality”.
In fact, you can submit as many photos as you like from now through June 18, 2012. Each week, Disney Baby will select one winner of the “Little Character” Contest to receive deluxe Disney Baby prize packages- including a case of Huggies diapers- and a chance to win the Grand Prize, which includes:
- $10,000 scholarship toward your baby’s education
- A “crawl on” role for your baby on ABC Family’s new original comedy, Baby Daddy
- A chance to have your baby’s photo featured in a National Magazine
- A trip to LA plus a $500 shopping spree
- A one-year supply of Huggies diapers
