This week’s #VlogMom topic comes from… ME! The question I asked my fellow vlogging super stars was:
If you could only watch THREE movies for the rest of your life, what would they be and why?
I discovered this to be a terrific conversation starter when I used to date. (On first dates, especially!) It’s a relatively light and frivolous topic, but you can learn so much about a person by their favorite movies– What interests them? What moves them? The answers will probably surprise you.
Of course, it’s always important to also ask “why” those are their favorite movies… and not just make judgement on the movies alone. I say this because as you will see from my picks, the reasons aren’t always obvious.
I like twist at the end, but not surprises. I like richly told stories and supple scenery, but not loose ends. And, I like way more than just these three movies…
But the rules are the rules and I didn’t make them up. Oh wait! That’s right. I did.
Look at what the other #VlogMom members have to say on this topic. Leave a comment or make your own video!
Movies that didn’t make the video, but I wish I could have added were:
The Royal Tenenbaums and A Life Aquatic
Both are from Wes Anderson, who is probably my very favorite director. A little dark and very quirky. I love both of these films for all of the little details in the scenes, the deadpan hilarity, and the conversations.
Goodfellas Mafia obsession. That is all.
Star Trek (the new one) I have no idea, but I just do. Okay?

Love that you picked How to Train Your Dragon! Are you all planning to go see the Live show when it reaches you? We saw it and it was amazing.
Oh, I LOVE How To Train Your Dragon! (and not just because your husband worked on it) 😉 It’s such a delightful movie, and I remember watching it for the first time and being so surprised at how fun and full of heart it was. Slightly related: is it me, or does the dude who voices the main character sound A LOT like Christian Slater? I know it’s not him, but every time I watch that movie, it’s all I can hear! ;D
I love the new site redesign!!
You actually make it seem really easy with your presentation however I find this matter to be really something which I feel I might never understand. It sort of feels too complex and very vast for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the grasp of it!
