My husband works for one of the most successful studios in the biz, so you’d think the prospect of attending movie premier parties would be so *yawn* blasé for me… YEAH, RIGHT!
I love it! The dress. The jewelry. The SHOES!
It’s just as fabulous as you would expect. However, when he springs the invitation on me with only a week to prepare, I get a little stressed.
So rather than the nothing that I originally had planned for this past Mother’s Day weekend, I braved the mall to find a suit for Mr. D and a dress for me…on a Saturday… with the kids in tow.
As with all things, it took an act of Congress to get everyone fed, dressed, and out the door. Yet, once we arrived at the mall, found parking, and reassembled the double stroller, the kids were hungry again. So our first stop was a sit-down restaurant (since I’m a snot and refuse to eat “mall” food) next to Loft.
Crunched for time, I ran into the store “just to look” while Mr. D and the kids were waiting for our food to arrive…
…and there it was. The ONE!
It took all of five minutes to find it, try it, and buy it. The pretty detailing around the neckline was what originally won me over.
But I knew it was all kinds of fabulous when I took it to the counter and all of the employees gasped and declared, “She’s getting THE dress.” “Oh! I LOVE this dress.” “Damn you, bitch, I was going to buy that dress.”
Well tough. I did.
Taking a page from OHMommy’s stylebook, I also added a pair of nude stilettos to my wardrobe over the weekend.
OHMommy is right. They make my legs go for MILES. Now the question is, do they go with the dress?
Ignore the messy hair and lack of make-up. Look at the shoes with this dress.
Now before you go all “no mixing brown with black” on me, let me remind you that I am brown. So, a pair of “dark brown” shoes to the rest of you is “nude” for me.
While enjoying some “me time” the next day, I also found these flirty silk shoes on super duper discount. I’m not going to tell you how much, but, trust me, it was obscene.
I love combination of black with turquoise. Vous?
Now, I can’t decide which looks BEST? Brown… er, nude or turquoise?
Tell me!
Oh yeah. Mr. D found a suit too. He looks HOT in it, but who cares? Focus. Shoes. Pick some.
Pick the Turquoise! While the nude is an understated look, the turquoise stand out more and just seem fun. I know I would have more fun if I had fun shoes on.
I like the brown!!! The dress and necklace is so fabulous I think you can go understated with the shoes. Plus I love the brown shoes. They are so cute!

The brown shoes – they really DO make your legs super long! Also, love the dress.

Oh man… I do like the extra pop of color. Especially in the spring. But the nude make your legs look hot!
Go for the nude! Your legs look endless in them… The turquoise shoes are also awesome, but the nude shoes look fab with that dress!

BLUE BLUE BLUE! I love the turquoise blue. The brown? Not so much with this dress, methinks. And I worry from the picture that they’re a bit gappy around the heel area… With the brown, I think you might have accessory issues, for I don’t know what accessories match with black/brown (IMHO, the pearls don’t). The blue look smashing with the pearls. And they would look great with silver as well. Silver accessories with the tiniest bit of red detail if you’re feeling extra fun (like, a silver bracelet with a red bead or two, or a silver bracelet with a pearl or two and a red bead or two) would ROCK with the black/turquoise.

Girl..you are lucky. That dress is rocking and you make it rock even more.
Now, the shoes? I vote for the turquoise. But, I’m definitely no stylist! The nude looks good, but I think the turquoise adds just a little fun pop!

GORGEOUS dress! You look amazing. I like the blue shoes — they look fun but also a bit more elegant than the brown, IMHO.

I’d go with the brown. Gorgeous dress.

I’m voting for blue! It adds a fabulous pop of color!

I’m voting blue. Those are adorable shoes and that’s an adorable dress! (And I’m racking my brain trying to figure out what sit down restaurant you went to next to LOFT that gave you enough time to go shop! LOL. Methinks I spend too much time at that mall.)
Have a BLAST at the party!
