Because a Summer Vacation is a Terrible Thing to Waste…

We’re winding down to our last days of school here in the Bay Area. I’ve come to understand that many of you in the rest of the country have been on summer vacation for many  months weeks now. Jerks.

This morning, I watched my son (mah baaaay-beeee boy) graduate from Kindergarten. I organized the class party, collected money for the teacher gifts, recruited an army of parent volunteers, and yelled at my husband during said party to get off his #&@*!! phone and &*@#$!! help. I should have been handed a giant carafe of wine. Instead, I was immediately directed towards the summer reading and 2012-13 school supply lists, summer school registration, and online math programs.

“Because summer loss is the great enemy of learning,” our principal admonished in the school’s weekly missive… and here I was only mourning the loss of my daily childcare. Silly, simple-minded, selfish me!

Luckily for me (and you), Great Schools and Kiwi Crate have partnered together to keep those little minds (and little hands) occupied this summer vacation.

Enter the GreatSchools “Summer Learning”  Facebook Sweepstakes for a chance to win a 3-month subscription to Kiwi Crate, hands-on activities delivered to your door. There will be not one… but THREE Grand Prizes. Support learning at home this summer with GreatSchools, but Hurry! Hurry! and enter today… Sweeps ends June 14th!

Disclosure: I was compensated to help promote Great School’s Summer Learning Sweepstakes, but the unfiltered thoughts and options are my own.
