Scenes from a Fabulous Fourth of July

We began our Fourth of July at the city-wide picnic, where all the city showed up to celebrate…even the fire truck.

… or as Scout put it, “Mommy! Mommy! Mommy! FIRE TRUCK!!!!!”

Three years old and Scout finally got to have his very first popsicle. The poor, deprived child loved it and could only look at me with accusing eyes.

“You’ve been keeping this from me all along?”

Yes, because even I have my limits when it comes to sticky, drippy, and messy…

But hey, it’s the Fourth of July. Let the kid have his fun… especially since he went right into the pool afterwards…

Scout got to show off his rad moves for his Daddy. See, the swimming lessons paid off… kind of…

This is my favorite photo of the day because their happy faces say it all.

I hope your weekend was just as spectacular!

Love the family picture by the firetruck.

And, first popsicle? Is it because they are 3 pounds in England? I bought one when we where there, about died from the cost, then dropped it on the ground!
